Member Stu Markham is serving his inaugural term on City Council.
He was elected in 2006. Stu was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended the
University of Delaware from 1976 to 1980. He moved permanently to Newark in
1990. He is married to Kathy Markham and they have one son and one daughter.
Work Experience
Stu is a Lead Technologist specializing in database solutions and Microsoft Technologies at Diamond Technologies-a Delaware computer consulting company.
Prior to Diamond Technologies, he was the Chief Technology Officer for Exam Master Corporation, a firm specializing in medical exam preparation software, based in Middletown Delaware.
He has also been an Independent Computer Consultant and has run his own business. He has been involved in computer technology since the late 1970's.
Community Involvement
Active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Wilmington where he participates in property management, energy savings, and long-term planning.
President of the Zion Early Education Center in Wilmington, Delaware.
Supports Lutheran Community Services.
EducationStu received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Delaware and concentrated his coursework in the Public Administration area.
He received his Masters of Engineering Science, Computer Science in 1985 from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland.
